After almost 9 year of leaving Mothers Mercy Home (MMH) and starting their individual journeys in life, Alumni from 2013, 14 and 15 were reunited at a get together at the John Kaheni Residence (JKR) on the 16th july, 2021.
23 from the total of 44 Alumni were present at the occasion. Some couldnt make it due to circumstance beyond their control, a few were out of town and others could not be contacted. Unfortunately, 2 are no more. May their souls rest in peace.
It was a joyous occasion with lots of food. There was chapati, ugali, skumawiki, beef and chicken stew with variety of sodas. The Alumni were very happy and excited to catch up and reconnect with their peers. We had the opportunity to interact and share some information with them and also to introduced them to the current JKR staff.
One person said something profound and i quote „its very refreshing having a get together that is not connected to a funeral “ . Apparently thats the only times a few of them have had the opportunity to meet.
